Touching the Void

Synopsis

Touching the Void is a documentary-drama that recounts the true story of climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates and their near-fatal 1985 ascent and descent of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes. Combining interviews with dramatic re-enactments, the film follows the pair's catastrophic accident, Simpson’s desperate struggle for survival after a fall and being left for dead, and the moral and physical choices that followed. It’s a tense, moving exploration of endurance, friendship and the will to survive.
